About card Class and HD action cameras:

We often get asked about the class of card needed for an HD action camera. If you're recording in 1080p at 30fps (the fastest video rate any current HD action camera will record at), you need to be able to write 1.14 Megabytes per second to the card. (1080p video takes approximately 1 Gigabyte (or 1,024 megabytes) for 15 minutes of video. [1,024 divided by (15 x 60) = 1.14]. Because of compression and just to leave some headroom, we recommend doubling that, so 2.28 Megabytes per second. A card's 'class' refers to the number of megabytes per second sustained write, so class 4 = 4 Megabytes per second. It doesn't matter if you use a class 4, a class 6, or a class 10 card, it's still going to perform the same when recording HD1080p video in your camera. There is no difference in video quality between these classes, provided they're above the rate that you need.
